Walt Fair began his career in the land title business in 1976 and earned his Juris Doctorate from Baylor University School of Law in 1983, making him one of the youngest lawyers in modern Texas history at the age of 23. He was admitted to Baylor Law before completing his undergraduate studies and was recognized on the Dean’s Distinguished Academic Honor List.

Walt served as Managing Director of Home Abstract and Title Company until 2003 and was honored as Stewart Title Guaranty Company’s Texas Young Titleman of the Year in 1991. He has been awarded the “AV Preeminent” rating by Martindale-Hubbell, placing him among the top 5% of attorneys nationwide for legal ability and professional ethics.

Walt serves as an adjunct college professor and holds licenses from the Texas Real Estate Commission to instruct courses including Principles of Real Estate, Real Estate Law, Promulgated Contract Forms, Law of Contracts, and Law of Agency. He is licensed to practice law by the Texas Supreme Court, Colorado Supreme Court, United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, and the United States Supreme Court.

The primary focus of Walt Fair, PLLC is the representation of financial institutions, investors, developers, builders, and individuals in the settlement of real estate transactions. The firm serves as a fee attorney office for Fidelity National Title Insurance Company agencies and closes more than a thousand real estate transactions each year. Walt also has extensive experience in the formation and operation of complex series limited liability companies.

Walt currently serves as President of RE/MAX Centex, Realtors, earning the distinction of RE/MAX of Texas Broker/Owner of the Year in both 2012 and 2014. His community involvement includes service as Director of Lorena State Bank, President of the Board of Trustees of Waco Baptist Academy, Trustee of Vanguard College Preparatory School, President of Baylor Fast Break Club, District Director of Baylor University School of Law Alumni Association, and Director of Boys and Girls Club of Waco, among other leadership roles.
